Zootropolis (U) - More Disney perfection, this time in an animation that blends liberal politics with the story of a crime-solving rabbit. The visuals are obviously great, but the fact that Zootropolis packs so much food-for-thought into a family-friendly package is the real reason to celebrate.
Midnight Special (15) - Eerie, 80s-influenced sci-fi starring Michael Shannon as the father of a boy with special powers. As they try to escape the clutches of both the authorities and a dangerous cult, this road movie turns into a think piece that stylishly highlights the pros and cons of belief.
