James King gives his thoughts on the best movies to watch this weekend on the big screen with James King's Top Movie Picks.
10 Cloverfield Lane (12A) - Producer JJ Abrams expertly blends kidnap thriller tension with sci-fi movie spectacle in this sort-of sequel to 2008's monster epic Cloverfield. John Goodman, as a possibly-lovely-but-probably-psychotic conspiracy believer, delivers the performance of his career.
High-Rise (15) - It's more weirdness than actual plot but Tom Hiddleston brings a suave class to this JG Ballard story of mid-70s tower block anarchy. The score, sets and cinematography wow too, even in the midst of wondering just what the hell is actually going on.
The Witch (15) - Ice cold Puritan chills abound in this slow-but-creepy tale of demonic possession in 17th century New England, as much The Crucible as it is The Exorcist. Anya Taylor-Joy, as troubled teen Thomasin, is a future star.
