• As founder of The Active Bystander Training Company, Scott appears at conferences and corporate events around Europe demonstrating psychological and assertive language techniques which are highly effective in challenging unacceptable behaviours. A specialist in language, influence and persuasion, he designed the ‘Active Bystander toolkit’ to equip adults, teenagers and children call out racism, sexism, bullying and other forms of aggression and discrimination.

  A self-confessed ‘psychological showman’, Scott combines his in-depth knowledge with demonstrations of how people ‘talk’ non-verbally to each other without realising, how to access people’s thoughts by looking at the way their eyes move and how to persuade people round to your way of thinking using sophisticated verbal and non-verbal communication.

  Scott is also a former broadcasting executive at both the BBC and in commercial radio and has plenty of fascinating stories about what goes on behind the scenes – all tied in with his specialist knowledge about the way people behave and communicate.

  Scott’s corporate appearances are both a show and an education – and there are light touches too. By the time you go home, you’ll be dying to try out his ways to get served at the bar when it’s busy, how to get through the crowd on a busy train – and how to master the psychological ‘autopilots’ that control our instinctive behaviours both at home and at work.

  His book, ‘You Need This Book To Get What You Want’ – on how to maximise your powers of influence and persuasion - is available around the world in several different languages.

  Scott coaches senior professionals and other leaders in using specialised techniques to increase their impact when public speaking. He has also worked with 10 Downing Street and the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

  He speaks German and French well – and some Spanish and Dutch.
